Bob’s Burgers and Archer are two completely different shows with some notable similarities. The most obvious being that they are both cartoons. They also both Star Jon H. Benjamin as their lead. Lastly, they value their supporting cast as much as there. So what would it be like if the two shows crossed over?
Well we already, somewhat, have already seen a glimpse of that reality in the Season 4 premiere of Archer. The crossover saw Archer, who has Amnesia, take over Bob’s role as the head cook at the restaurant, interacting with Linda as if he was her husband. Aside from the brief clip below, the interaction was never mentioned again and was not canon (for obvious reasons) in the Bob’s Burgers universe.

Linda was the only one with speaking lines from Bob’s Burgers in the episode though, played by John Roberts, so we never got to see Bob’s wise cracking kids interact with Archer. Two weeks ago, amateur illustrator and animator Simon Chung posted a video titled “I Had Something For This Burger,” which saw Archer and the gang venture over into the Bob’s Burger’s universe.
According to Chung, the unofficial crossover was mad over the course of 7 months of animating, illustrating and plucking dialogue from both shows. You wouldn’t be able to tell by the look of it though, as the interactions seem like a genuine episode through the magic of editing.
The most impressive part of the four-minute long clip isn’t even that it managed showcase Archer, Mallory, Cheryl, and Pam’s attitudes from the show, which makes sense since it was cut with clips from Archer, mix in with Bob’s Burgers cast. Instead, the most impressive part is that they look exactly how Bob’s Burgers characters do, featuring a unique animated style highlighted by droopy noses and long, chubby necks.
It may not be an officially sanctioned crossover, but it’s still amazing. It seems the minds behind Bob’s Burgers agree, as Chung announced on his Twitter he was hired to work for the show as an animator!
