Arise: A Simple Story is a puzzle-platformer game about reliving one’s memories. Players travel through the memories of the protagonist, solving puzzles by manipulating time in a variety of ways. Arise has done well since its initial release in December 2019. It currently has Very Positive reviews on Steam, and a Definitive Edition is in the works for Nintendo Switch. Today, Piccolo Studio and Untold Tales announced that the Definitive Edition of Arise on Switch will include some exclusive features.

“Manipulate time, solve puzzles, and reshape surroundings as you push forward into the bittersweet recollections of a past life and see how one’s life can be shaped by the presence of a soulmate. Each level is a metaphorical representation of the stages of life and how our memories shape these recollections.”
As previously mentioned, Arise is a puzzle-platformer game. The protagonist’s ability to manipulate time comes in handy throughout the game. According to the game’s Steam page:
“Control the flow of time and change your surroundings from the shifting of seconds to entire seasons. Fast forward, move back, or pause time to relive your memories and overcome every obstacle on your journey.”

What Are the Exclusive Features in Arise: A Simple Story on Nintendo Switch?
Today’s announcement revealed several things that will be exclusive to the Switch version of Arise. As far as the Nintendo Switch itself is concerned, the biggest difference seems to be the addition of gyroscope support. Other additions include a custom Photo Mode, a digital artbook, and the game’s soundtrack.
Arise: A Simple Story- Definitive Edition for Nintendo Switch is coming to the eShop on April 28th. According to today’s press release, the regular price is $19.99, but players will be able to pick it up on launch for 50% off.
