In what many would agree is blatantly racist, an Arkansas woman dressed up as Steve Harvey for Halloween, blackface included. Apparently, she faced no consequences initially, but the internet just found out about her.
The outrageous costume was revealed by TikTok user maurensparrow, who posted her second video in her series of Little Rock, Arkansas, drama content. Mauren names the lady behind the outfit as Maddie Daniel, who is seen posing alongside her friends in what appears to be a Halloween party. The issue? Her costume.
“For some reason, in 2025, she felt it was appropriate to dress full blackface as Steve Harvey in Halloween,” Mauren said. “Full, full blackface.”
According to the TikToker, Maddie has not faced any repercussions ever since the photo was posted. Furthermore, her family has said that there’s no issue with her Steve Harvey costume, regardless of its racist nature.
“Her family is doubling down and saying, ‘This is fine, she just really loves Steve Harvey,'” Mauren continued. “Maddie loves Steve Harvey and has been fascinated with him since she was a little girl,” the TikToker quoted.
Mauren went on to say that people in Arkansas know that blackface is wrong, but that racism has “been emboldened over the last couple of years.” She added that what Maddie did was not fueled by ignorance, but was completely purposeful.
“You can’t tell me this woman would walk up to Steve Harvey looking like this and feel proud, right?” the TikToker asked.
Racist Steve Harvey Costume Reactions
The overwhelming majority agreed with her in the comments, bashing Maddie for her racist costume and her lack of accountability. Some also heavily questioned the supposed “love” and “admiration” the woman supposedly had for Steve.
“Steve not even that dark,” one user wrote. Another one said, “It’s okay to like Steve Harvey. But dressing in blackface is wrong.” A third one added, “She could have been Steve Harvey without the face paint. Literally all she needed was a mustache.”
It’s still baffling why the Arkansas woman and her ridiculous, racist outfit were not called out before. Now, at least, people are starting to notice and denounce her actions.
