(Spoilers for the sixth season of Arrow)
Arrow’s seventh season is shaping up to be one of their best yet and it hasn’t even been one week since their sixth season finale.
Michael Ausiello from TVLine is reporting that Arrow is adding two new members to their cast this season. One of these characters is “a successful tech whiz who is gay, and who harbors a heartbreaking past”. The other seems to be an antagonistic character for Team Arrow. She is an “ambitious, young anti-vigilante recruit at the SCPD”. Ausiello described this character saying “If vigilantes were vampires, consider her your Buffy.”.
This isn’t the only bit of news for Arrow’s seventh season. Stephen Amell (who plays Oliver Green/Green Arrow) broke the news that both Batwoman and the city of Gotham will be coming to the Arrowverse during the next crossover event.
Amell has also revealed that he is growing a goatee for season 7. This facial hair news is important because the goatee is an iconic feature for the Green Arrow character in the comics. If I had to guess, the goatee will just act as an easter egg to longtime fans of the character while Oliver is serving his sentence in prison.
All of this news should appease Arrow fans for the time being. We already knew that both longtime stars Willa Holland and Paul Blackthorne have left the series. Along with that, Colton Haynes is returning to Arrow as a series regular in season 7.
We still don’t know any details on who will be the main villain for next season. The sixth season finale ended with Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) escaping from custody and into the protection of the mysterious Longbow Hunters.
