Ash Christian, an Emmy Award-winning producer, actor, and filmmaker, has died. He was 35 years old.
Deadline reported that the prolific filmmaker -who has produced several award-winning films and productions, such as Hurricane Bianca, 1985, Hello Again, Social Animals, and Coyote Lake- has died in his sleep while on vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Among his numerous projects currently underway – in various stages of production and some set to begin filming – is As Sick As They Made Us, which is The Big Bang Theory actress Mayim Bialik’s directorial debut starring Dustin Hoffman, Candice Bergen, and Simon Helberg.

His other projects include Nightfall with Matt Bomer and Sam Worthington, directed by Addison McQuigg (Bloodline), Chick Fight with Malin Akerman, Fortune Feimster, and Alec Baldwin, and Paper Spiders, featuring Lili Taylor, Max Casella, and Peyton List, among others.
Having begun his career in community theater in Paris, Texas, Christian started writing and directing short films at the young age of 14, before leaving for L.A at age 16 to pursue acting. He wrote, starred, and directed his first feature film, Fat Girls, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival at the age of 19. The film went on to win the Outstanding Emerging Talent Award at L.A. Outfest 2006. There was looking back for Christian who went on to be known for several television roles including The Good Wife, and Law and Order etc.
Dallas-based Christian had his own company, under which he developed and produced many mainstream as well as specialized feature films with thought-provoking plots. He was involved in Broadway productions, including the award-winning musical, Next to Normal.
Speaking of Christian, friend and producing partner Anne Clements had the following to say:
Ash was a great friend, colleague and partner in crime. He was a champion of indie film and filmmakers and his love of the process of putting movies together was infectious. My heart goes out to his family, especially his mother. The world lost one of the good ones.”
No information on next of kin or a memorial has been made available yet. Rest in peace, Ash Christian.
