That’s right, for the first time in the history of the Assassin’s Creed series, we have ourselves a crossover. The only other time that anything like this has occurred was the Assassin’s Creed Embers short film. It premiered soon after the end of the Ezio trilogy and focuses on the twilight years of his life. But now, an announcement of a true crossover between Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has been released. With Valhalla releasing their second year of content, it’s no surprise there. And Odyssey has been a huge success with its new features. Now, we will see two of the greatest modern assassins clash.
What Is the Assassin’s Creed Crossover Hiding Up Its Sleeve?
The Playstation Blog post revealed a fair amount of details about the crossover event. After a long break from the events of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the main character Kassandra is dragged back to the fight for the beginning of the crossover. She’s sent on a new journey to find an artifact. This brings her to the Isle of Sky, where Eivor from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla happens to be for the next crossover section. Though they are both assassins, they are from entirely different worlds. Ubisoft developers have promised that the two of them will clash at their first meeting. The crossover story is expected to start from Kassandra’s perspective and lead into Eivor’s by the end. Where this will take them, as allies or enemies, is undefined at the moment.
Something of note about this announcement is that there may be more than one crossover from here. Ubisoft creative director Clemence Nogrix came to the idea of the crossover due to Kassandra’s ending in Odyssey. With so many open-ended possibilities, we may see more worlds collide in the future. She may head to Egypt to meet Bayek, or even see Altair at some point. Ultimately, only time will tell with these Crossover Stories.
