Continuing her current streak with Bullet Train and Atlanta, Zazie Beetz signed up for the HBO Max series Full Circle from Steven Soderbergh, Variety has reported. The filmmaker will executive produce and direct all six episodes. Ed Solomon will write and executive produce. Casey Silver also executive produces. This is a return for the trio of executive producers as they worked on the streamer’s film No Sudden Move.
Details on who Atlanta alum Zazie Beetz will play are under wraps. The story follows an investigation into a kidnapping gone wrong that unveils secrets that will be tied to multiple characters in New York City.
The series is a part of a multi-year deal between Soderbergh and HBO, along with HBO Max. It gives him a platform for TV shows while giving him a first-look deal for film projects. He already had made No Sudden Move and Let Them All Talk for the platform. He will executive produce the unscripted series The Real Magic Mike.
Atlanta star Zazie Beetz joins Steven Soderbergh’s HBO Max series Full Circle
The FX and Donald Glover-created and starring series Atlanta put Zazie Beetz on the map. It also starred LaKeith Stanfield and Brian Tyree Henry. Her big splash on the big screen was in 2018’s Deadpool 2 as Domino, whose superpower was being lucky as cars, bullets, and other dangers miraculously dodged her path. She is also known for The Harder They Fall, Nine Days, and Joker with Joaquin Phoenix, which she is in talks to reprise her role for the musical sequel Folie à Deux with new cast member Lady Gaga. She most recently starred in the high-energy action-comedy Bullet Train with Brad Pitt, Henry, Michael Shannon, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Next up with the Joker sequel, she will star in the drama Shelter.
No release date has been set for the HBO Max series Full Circle.
