Atomic Heart uses a rather odd and retro mechanic to save your progress. You need to locate red stations scattered around Facility 3826.
When you start the campaign, you can save once you descend into the underground and find yourself wandering through robot-infested corridors of facility 3826. Before this happens, the game will autosave at certain checkpoints preventing you from losing your progress. You won’t have any problems passing the opening chapter of this first-person shooter.
Once you get near the red telephone booth, you can interact with it by pressing RB/R1 and manually saving. Furthermore, Atomic Heart will also continue to save your progress automatically. However, these automatic saves are rare.
Atomic Heart is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
