The Avengers Unlimited series is back on the Marvel Unlimited app with a brand-new arc featuring an odd team-up. From Eve L. Ewing, Luciano Vecchio, and Morry Hollowell comes a new story featuring Namor, the Sub-Mariner teaming up with the Wasp. Yes, you read that right. Avengers Unlimited #39 finds the first mutant and Janet Van Dyne partnering up to stop a new threat.
Avengers Unlimited In Too Deep
Issue 39 of Avengers Unlimited brings a new story arc to the Infinity Comics series. This new arc, titled “In Too Deep,” plays out over the next couple of issues of the series. It all leads to a dramatic conclusion in Avengers Unlimited #42. While readers will have to wait until Tuesday for these weekly issues, Marvel teased fans with a first look at part one.
The preview pages show Namor and the Wasp flying down from a jet to investigate a ship. The ship in question is run by researchers who are studying the effects of climate change on marine mammals. However, with the research director missing, Dr. Sylvia Fontaine fills the duo in on what is going on. Fontaine sent a transmission to alert the Avengers of disturbances connected to the Ember Wave. This is a large wave that crests on a continuous cycle…until now.
The preview ends with Fontaine noting that it is a shame the Avengers don’t investigate climate change more. However, the already hot-headed Namor is ready to counter with some choice words before Janet picks up on the fact that the wave is “off-sync.” Meanwhile, the rest is held within the digital pages of Avengers Unlimited #39.
Infinity Comics
Marvel introduced exclusive Infinity Comics back in 2021. These are brand-new weekly stories from some of Marvel’s best and brightest creators. While the Avengers Unlimited series is popular amongst fans, several other heroes are featured in the vertical formatted stories. They include the X-Men, Captain America, Shang-Chi, Deadpool, and more.
