Bad Sisters has been renewed for season 2 on Apple TV+. The order for the limited series to return to the platform comes after the first season ended on October 14 after a ten-episode run.
Based on the Belgian series Clan, the American black comedy-drama follows the Garvey sisters as they look after one another after the death of their parents. They devise a scheme to save one of the sisters from an abusive relationship, which goes wrong when two insurance agents investigate. Now with Bad Sisters going for season 2, creators Brett Baer (New Girl), Dave Finkel (New Girl), and Sharon Horgan (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent). Horgan also leads the series, writes, and serves as executive producer. Baer and Finkel also write and executive produce.
No details on the plot, release date, or casting have been unveiled for Bad Sisters season 2.
Bad Sisters gets season 2 on Apple TV+ after successful debut
With 52 submitted reviews, the debut season of the comedy has 100% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. People enjoyed the murder mystery, its sense of humor, and the ensemble cast. Audiences were a little more split, with it receiving a passable percentage of 64% from 413 audience reviews submitted.
As season 2 has been green-lit, we can expect to see the “Bad Sisters” return for hilarious family drama and mystery. That ensemble consists of Horgan, Eve Hewson (The Knick), Anne-Marie Duff (Sex Education), Eva Birthistle (The Last Kingdom), and Sarah Greene (Penny Dreadful). The rest of the cast includes Claes Bang (The Northman) plays the abuser of Duff’s character; Brian Gleeson (Phantom Thread) and Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders) as the insurance agents; Sasie Quinn (Monster), and Michael Smiley (Luther).
The series was never meant to return. Intended to follow the original show that it based its story on, the successful debut churned out inspiration to continue the story, Horgan confirmed to Variety.
