In another reveal that few saw coming, Batman has entered into the gaming universe in Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point.
Straight from DC Comics and Epic Games, Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point has been confirmed as a six-issue miniseries. Interestingly, DC confirmed that not only will Batman be making the journey, but “other DC superheroes” are to be expected in the crossover.
Fans who purchase the upcoming miniseries will be treated to an in-game code with each issue. The first of which has been confirmed to contain a “Rebirth Harley Quinn” skin for Fortnite. Subsequent issues will also contain a similar reward, and fans who collect all six (the entire series) will unlock an Armored Batman Zero Outfit for the game. This will assumedly mirror the costume that Batman will don during the miniseries in question.
DC provided us with a brief synopsis:
As he fights to recall his past and escape an endless loop of chaos and struggle, he’ll come face-to-face with the likes of Renegade Raider, Fishstick, Bandolier, and more. While the world’s greatest detective strives to make sense of this strange new world, he’ll uncover the shocking truth about the Island, what lies beyond the Loop, and how everything is connected to the mysterious Zero Point.”
The series will be headed by writer Christos Gage, known in the industry for his work on the Daredevil TV Series along with a slew of other comic-related works. He’s paired with Chief Creative Officer of Epic Games, Donald Mustard, to craft a story that is true to both franchises. With Reilly Brown, Christian Duce, Nelson DeCastro, and John Kalisz heading up the art, the miniseries is poised to be a visual stunner that will please both fanbases.
For the collectors in the crowd, variant covers will be available by Arthur Adams, Amanda Conner, and the ever-popular Jim Lee, among others. What do you think of Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point? Did you pick up the latest Tron skins while they were available? Share your thoughts in the comments.
