No matter what your thoughts are on the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy, it’s plainly obvious that Tim Burton’s Batman from 1989 is the best movie. It just is. Sure, Heath Ledger may be the best Joker, but we wouldn’t have him without the film that started to take Batman in a more serious direction. You may not agree with me, and to be honest, I’m doubting myself, it’s a debate for another day or the comments. What isn’t up for debate though, is the awesomeness of Lego, and when you combine the two it’s nothing but a win.
Thankfully, the folks over at Lego are one step ahead as they have today made an astonishing 2363 piece Lego Batwing set available to order. As you can see from the picture below, the thing is an absolute beauty, although it isn’t exactly cheap at a price of $199.99. It does come with a wall mounting bracket though so you can show off your hard work like you were Bruce Wayne.
The Batwing also includes mini-figures of Batman, The Joker, and Lawrence The Boombox Goon. Two of these can’t be found anywhere else. I’m not sure I need to say anything else as you’ll have already made up your mind from the pictures alone. You can check out more pictures, and order the Batwing from here. It’s worth noting though that orders are currently limited to VIP members (it’s free) with general sale starting from November 1st.
It’s the Lego we deserve, as well as need. Let me know your thoughts on this new Batman Lego set in the comments, and be sure to tell us what the best Lego set you’ve ever built is. While you’re there, also tell us what franchise you’d love to see immortalized in Lego. For me, it has to be Red Dwarf. A man can dream.
