Bayonetta 3 was recently revealed by Platinum Games, and fans are still waiting eagerly to hear more about that. In the meantime, the first two games are being ported to the Nintendo Switch, and they come with a Special Edition with some bonus goods for those willing to spend the extra cash. Inside the dual-colored box, there are some sticker sheets, collectible Verse cards, the Bayonetta 2 game card and case, and steelbook case featuring some downright gorgeous artwork. Don’t worry, there’s a download code for a digital version of the first game in the series, it hasn’t been left out.
Exclusive to the Switch version is the ability to play cooperatively, both via Internet connection or locally. It’s unknown if a second controller is necessary for couch co-op or if players will split the Joy-Cons. Players also will have the option of choosing from a roster of awesome characters and costumes. Speaking of “witch…”
Amiibo time. The Switch version naturally includes support for the little figures, and their usage is exactly what you might expect: they unlock costumes to wear during gameplay. As with the Wii U version, the available suits are for Peach, Daisy, Link, Samus, and Fox. It’s also possible to acquire them during regular play, so no need to sweat over it too much, although you’ll need tons and tons of halos to purchase them. No word on what the Bayonetta Amiibo figure will do, oddly enough. Unlock the original outfit for the second game, and the second outfit for the first game, maybe?
Bayonetta 2 has been out for the Wii U for some time as a 2-pack, and will release for Nintendo Switch on February 16, 2018. Bayonetta 3‘s release date and platform have not been confirmed, but speculation hints at it sometime later this year, and for it to be on the Switch.
