Recently, Bethesda has been busy bringing Starfield to fans next year. Then the studio will leave this space adventure and start working on Elder Scrolls VI, which was announced in 2018. Todd Howard has confirmed that the third pending game will be Fallout 5. Howard mentioned that Bethesda’s next AAA production will be the new Fallout.
Fallout 5 Will Follow The Elder Scrolls 6
Bethesda Game Studios producer Todd Howard confirmed in an interview with IGN that the studio’s next game after The Elder Scrolls 6 will be Fallout 5.
Bethesda has already been working on Starfield, which is scheduled for release in 2023. And the next project is already in the cards, and it’s called The Elder Scrolls VI. While it is not even in production, Todd Howard is already announcing the one that will follow it, Fallout 5.
Yes, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production and, you know, we’re going to be doing Fallout 5 after that, so our slate’s pretty full going forward for a while. We have some other projects that we look at from time to time as well.
This director’s statement brings both good and bad news to the gamers. We learned not when the new Fallout would be released but only that it will be Bethesda’s third game in the queue (Starfield, Elder Scrolls VI, and Fallout 5).
Starfield will not be released until 2023, which means The Elder Scrolls 6 will not appear until 2025-2026. This could mean we will not see the new Fallout until 2030. It’s intimidating if you think about it but comforting with Starfield and Elden Scrolls 6.
It is worth noting that there will be about 14 years between The Elder Scrolls 5 and The Elder Scrolls VI. If The Elder Scrolls VI is still in pre-production, we can legitimately think its release is not planned for five years, around 2028. So it’s not surprising that there is a similar timeframe between Fallout 4 and Fallout 5.
