Shoes make the man. Shoes can also make the setup for a joke, so don’t be surprised if that turns out to be the case when Sheldon and Amy finally tie the knot on The Big Bang Theory this coming season finale. Mayim Bialik, who portrays Amy on the show, recently shared a picture of the footwear she and Jim Parsons will be bringing to the occasion. Let’s just say, both choices fit their respective characters perfectly.

Oops, did I say shoes? I guess I meant socks. Leave it to Sheldon to wear comic book hero socks to a wedding. But seriously, can we take a moment to appreciate just how dang shiny his shoes actually are? Also, though it technically hasn’t been confirmed, Bialik also tweeted a “wedding prep” photo of Amy wearing the tiara Sheldon got her way back in season five, so it’s assumed she’ll be likewise crowned for the ceremony. Based on the episode title, The Bow Tie Asymmetry, we might know one other accessory Sheldon will sport.
Can’t have a wedding without guests (well, you can, but not on The Big Bang Theory, and especially not for this couple). Confirmed attendees include Mark Hamill of Star Wars fame and Kathy Bates from American Horror Story. Lauren Lapkus and Penn (from Penn and Teller) are on the list as well. Mary and Missy Cooper will be there, along with the first appearance of Sheldon’s brother Georgie, who will be played by Jerry O’Connell.
Those are some big names in Hollywood and show business, but then, The Big Bang Theory has never had much trouble bringing on famous celebrities as guest stars. Sheldon’s likely to want to best everyone else’s weddings anyway, and it’s shaping up to do just that. Fans won’t have to wait much longer for the magic to happen – The Big Bang Theory season eleven finale happens in two short weeks, May 10.
