William Jackson Harper has been announced as the voice behind the next Marvel audiobook experience, Marvel’s Black Panther: Sins of the King. Releasing in January, the experience will have T’Challa facing the mistakes of his past as his father is resurrected.
This will be the fourth Marvel experience to make its way to the Serial Box reading and audio entertainment app, available on both Android and iOS. Previous entries have been based on Black Widow, Jessica Jones, and Thor.
As for William Jackson Harper’s involvement, the actor perhaps best known for portraying Chidi Anagonye on the television show The Good Place, is excited to work on Black Panther: Sins of the King:
I’ve long been a fan of sci-fi, but there’s always been a dearth of Black characters in those worlds, especially when brought to the screen… I remember seeing Black Panther in the theater and just being giddy about how many kids like me will have this be one of their first and formative sci-fi experiences, and how open they will be to seeing all kinds of people inhabiting these worlds as they grow older, which is why I am thrilled to be a part of this project.
Black Panther: Sins of the King will feature cameos like War Machine and Misty Knight, as well as the return of Okoye and Shuri. The villain, possessing the ability of resurrect the dead, is completely new to the Marvel universe.
In addition to buying Black Panther: Sins of the King standalone on Serial Box, all four marvel experiences can be bought through Serial Box’s Marvel Pass program, giving a 15 percent discount for more than 25 hours of entertainment. Serial Box productions combine best-selling authors with high quality narration, soundscapes, music, and sound effects, putting listeners into an immersive experience.
