Bloodborne 2 Clue Found in Deracine

It was inevitable that fans of From Software’s PlayStation 4 masterpiece Bloodborne would end up scouring the developer’s new VR game, Deracine, for clues to a potential sequel.

YouTuber Amazing Komaru found a doll in-game that appears to make a gesture similar to The Doll character from Bloodborne. When players approach the doll in Deracine, a prompt that reads “Make Contact” appears. This further leads to a cryptic message that says, “A doll of the stone girl Fiona who appears in the unfinished tale. When a person has a bad dream, Fiona appears and helps them flee.”

It’s a short passage, but it already has fans of Bloodborne riled up as to what it could mean for a sequel. What is interesting about the passage is that it mentions a doll named Fiona. As far as I know, The Doll is only ever referred to as such in-game or otherwise. It is hard to say whether this is a cheeky addition from the developers to really add fuel to the theory flames, or if this is a name that will be revealed for The Doll in a potential Bloodborne 2.

However, what really has the fans talking are the two words “unfinished tale”, obviously alluding to the fact that we have yet to see the last of the world of Yharnam. It would seem that this wording is a very cut and dry confirmation of a sequel, as it would seem strange to very much be referencing the Bloodborne series and say “unfinished tale” and not be serious. Another aspect of Deracine that seems to add more fuel to the fire is that it was directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki who also directed Bloodborne.

Hopefully, it won’t be long until we get a teaser for Bloodborne 2. From Software’s next title, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, releases March 22, 2019.
