The 2022 Bob’s Burgers Movie poster is here! The Belchers are back and fans will be able to see their favorite dysfunctional family in theaters this coming memorial day. On September 10th, the official Bob’s Burgers account announced the release date along with a new poster. The tweet stated “Let’s get this PATTY started! The #BobsBurgers Movie, coming to theaters Memorial Day weekend 2022!” Fans responded with enthusiasm as the movie has been in production for a while.
A Long Road to Release
Initially announced in 2017, The Bob’s Burgers Movie was originally planning to release in 2020. The Bob’s Burgers Movie date has changed twice now, flipping from 2021 to the 2022 date confirmed on the poster.
Fans can rest easy knowing that the full voice cast will reprise their roles, with everyone from Kristen Schaal to Sam Seder returning to bring life to the bizarre characters. In 2020, Jon H. Benjamin revealed that work had been done on it during the pandemic. In an interview with the Observer, Jon stated that “We’ve started recording the audio as best as we can. Everybody’s working from home, but I know they’ve created animatics for a lot of it.”
Disney’s First Animated Feature Since 2011
As indicated by the poster, the 2022 Bob’s Burgers Movie will retain the original animation style of the show. This will make it the first hand-drawn animated film distributed by Disney since the 2011 rendition of Winnie The Pooh. Details on the plot are thin, though it is on record that the movie will be a musical. There’s also speculation that the film will reveal some major character backstory, based on a tweet exchange between a fan and creator Loren Bouchard. A fan in 2019 had asked why Louisa always wears pink bunny ears, to which Bouchard simply replied “movie”.
Time will tell how the Belcher family will translate to the big screen. However, if the poster is any indication, the Bob’s Burgers Movie will satisfy old fans and new fans alike.
