The ending to the last season of BoJack Horseman dealt with a lot of dark things, and left fans with a lot of questions. The first trailer for Season 4 of the animated Netflix show sees the other members of the show with those same questions.
Narrated by Diane, the trailer talks about how no one has seen or heard from BoJack in over three months. Diane is writing for a blog, Mr. Peanutbutter is running for governor (Trump jokes incoming?), Princess Caroline’s relationship is getting serious, and Todd is as clueless as ever.
Aside from a last second clip of him pulling up to a random house, Horseman isn’t in barely any of the trailer. At the end of last season, BoJack was lost in a deep depression, teasing a suicidal car crash until he sees a group of horses running in the wild.
The most interesting part of the reveal shows that this season will explore a huge plot point from last season, BoJack’s daughter. Near the end of the season 3 finale, someone called Princess Caroline trying to get ahold of Bojack. When it shows the caller, it’s a college age female horse that looks very similar to him.
There were multiple references throughout all of BoJack Horseman’s first three seasons in regards to the actor giving money to multiple women to pay for their abortions. “Fish Out of Water” also saw BoJack bond with a baby seahorse, before having to let him go. All hinting at the want and need to be a parent to help give him purpose.
Alongside all of that, the trailer reveals the fourth season of the show will feature just as many odd things known to occur in the BoJack Horseman series – Creep Clown Dentist and Woodchuck politicians – mixed in with real life issues – Diane and Mr. Peanutbutters marital issues.
