The first trailer for the upcoming action/thriller Bullet Train has been released, and it looks wildly entertaining. The colorful trailer for Bullet Train shows a star-studded ensemble led by Brad Pitt with a stylish concoction of trains, guns, knives, swords, blood, and briefcases that has the internet anxious for its Summer release. The Bullet Train trailer is being described as “fun,” “thrilling,” and “exciting,” filled with high-speed action, death-defying thrills, and playful banter that we’ve come to love in films like Deadpool 2.
Bullet Train is based on the internationally best-selling novel Maria Beetle by Japanese author Kotaro Isaka. The movie’s official website describes the film as “an ensemble cast of eclectic, diverse assassins—all with connected yet conflicting objectives—set against the backdrop of a nonstop ride through modern-day Japan.” A diverse ensemble is an understatement; actors Michael Shannon, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Bad Bunny all make appearances in the trailer for Bullet Train.
Bullet Train reunites Zazie Beetz, Brad Pitt, and director David Leitch for the second time since Deadpool 2. However, Leitch and Pitt have the longest standing relationship amongst the cast, having worked together several times when David Leitch was a stuntman on films like Fight Club, Ocean’s Eleven, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. David Leitch’s experience as a stuntman undoubtedly influences his animated, enthralling director style that we’ve seen in films like Atomic Blonde and Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw.
Bullet Train stars Brad Pitt, Michael Shannon, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Hiroyuki Sanada, Sandra Bullock, Zazie Beetz, and Joey King. The action/thriller premieres exclusively in theaters on July 15th, a decision that more and more movie studios have been making lately.
