Destiny 2 players and the Bungie community have prevailed yet again with their efforts toward charity. The success of the Bungie Day Giving Festival helped accumulate nearly $1.2 million in charitable funds. This accomplishment will help the Bungie Foundation in its mission to help those around the world.
A Community’s Destiny to Come Together with Bungie
Streamers, content creators, gamers, and donors all around assembled between July 7-20 for a good cause. By hosting multiple events, online folks were able to donate generous funds toward the Bungie Day Giving Festival. It’s all to help those in need by connecting and assisting one another all around the world.
As mentioned before, the community helped raise close to $1.2 million in funds. The incredible success of the event was graciously expressed by Sr. Foundation Manager of the Bungie Foundation, Christine Edwards:
“I truly believe we have the greatest community in the industry. Time and time again, they have stood up to support each other and address the needs of the world around them with enthusiasm and compassion – there is a culture of giving that is unmatched.”
Individuals who participated during the event were given special Destiny 2 emblems. These include the “Seven of Seven,” “Circadian Guard,” “Metagalactic Bloom,” “Function of Grace,” “Buoyant Shell,” the Hearts emblem package, and the exclusive Bungie Day emblems. Players also obtained the Loyal Companion emote from the Eververse, along with the Artemis Plush from the Bungie Store during the event.
The Bungie Foundation is essentially the charitable extension of the main company itself. They work through various missions to ensure they reach as many people as possible. Evidently, the community plays a vital role in making it all possible, with annual events encouraging love and support. The Bungie Foundation operates under three distinctive charitable pillars: Children’s Health and Wellbeing; Humanitarian Aid; and Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity.
We’re always happy to see players worldwide coming together for a great cause. Even though Bungie Day has concluded, the fourth annual Game2Give event will go live on December 6, 2022. So, be sure to stay tuned with us and with Bungie to see what they have lined up later this year!
