After much theorizing thanks to Warzone easter eggs, Activision finally revealed more information about Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War today. The game is scheduled to launch on November 13, 2020, with a multiplayer reveal trailer coming in on September 9th. They also plan to do an open beta test soon with a “minimum duration” of two days. And when it’s released you will be able to get Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in three different flavors:
- Standard Edition. For $59.99, it includes:
- The base game.
- Confrontation Weapons Pack.
- Cross-Gen Bundle. Priced at $69.99:
- Current-gen (PS4 or Xbox One) version of the game.
- Next-gen (PS5 or Xbox Series X) version of the game.
- Confrontation Weapons Pack.
- Ultimate Edition. The complete release bundle for $79.99:
- Black Ops Cold War, for current and next-gen consoles.
- Confrontation Weapons Pack.
- Land, Sea, and Air Pack, (3 Operator Skins, 3 Vehicle Skins, 3 Weapon Blueprints).
- Battle Pass Bundle (1 Season Battle Pass + 20 Tier Skips).
Battle.net store page describes the game taking place in “the depths of the Cold War’s volatile geopolitical battle” of the early 1980s. Sending you around the globe through East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey, Soviet KGB headquarters facing iconic historical figures and “hard truths”. Interestingly, a leak of the game synopsis confirmed Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War to be a direct sequel to the 2010’s Black Ops, where you will play through the campaign alongside Sergeant Frank Woods and Alex Mason.
As elite operatives, you will follow the trail of a shadowy figure named Perseus who is on a mission to destabilize the global balance of power and change the course of history. Descend into the dark center of this global conspiracy alongside iconic characters Woods, Mason and Hudson and a new cast of operatives attempting to stop a plot decades in the making.”
And last but not least, the fan-favorite multiplayer Zombies mode will be making a return after being absent in the 2019’s Modern Warfare remake. I know, the original title didn’t have it either but it’s not like they can’t just add an extra secret mode for laugh considering how popular it is, can’t they?
