For those of you looking to dabble into Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer affairs, your loadout is a major focus of your performance. From your guns to your perks, there’s a lot of customization you have ahead of you. Nothing is more important than the weapons you bring along for the job though. They’re the one thing that stands between you and your foe, so finding the best guns is a must. Thankfully, I’m here to help you with that. In this guide, I’ll explain the best guns you can use in the game.
What Are The Best Guns in Cold War?
When it comes to selecting the best weapons, much will be dependent on your personal preference. I can sit here for hours and tell you about my favorite gun and how it stomps on every other one, but in the end it’ll be up to you. What I can do though, is send you in the right direction for the best guns. As of writing, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s most rivaled weapon is the MP5. Fans have been talking about just how broken it is, and rightfully so. It provides superior fire rate and damage, making it a killing machine in mid to close range. I’d suggest abusing this while you can, as it could be nerfed pretty hard soon.
If you’re looking for something in other scenarios though, I’ve seen high rates of success with the AK-47 and M16 rifles. Both are unlocked pretty early on in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and offer some serious stopping power. You may also have a good time running the LW3 – Tundra sniper rifle on longer range maps. It’s my go-to weapon when on Sattelite, due to the sand dunes along the side of the map.

As far as your secondary goes, this will depend on the situation. A rocket launcher may fare better against plenty of enemy scorestreaks. Most of the time though, I recommend running a shotgun and, if possible, a Gallo SA12. It’s tough to beat a semi-auto shotgun, especially with how much firepower it provides. The amount of times I’ve been able to pick up that gun and run down opponents is laughable.
I hope this guide helps you when it comes to picking weapons in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Good luck on the battlefield, soldiers!
