It seems that the big test to see if your intellectual property or brand is sufficiently relevant in the modern day is to have them crop up as a skin or event within a battle royale game. Fortnite has arguably skyrocketed its success by partnering with countless brands by featuring skins and seasonal content within the game. Now, Call Of Duty Warzone wants to get in on the action by featuring one of the most badass action movie stars in cinema in John McClane (played by Bruce Willis) from the Die Hard series, announced via a tweet.

Activision has set up a fictional company’s website to help tease the announcement. The company, Nakatomi Duct Cleaning, offers services in Verdansk (the location of Warzone) and references the events (and its Christmas setting – its another debate about if it counts as a Christmas film) of the first Die Hard film where John McClane has to crawl through some ventilation shafts in order to stop Hans Gruber (played by the late Alan Rickman) and his group of terrorists. Nakatomi is where McClane’s wife works (the duct cleaning company is a subsidiary of the larger corporation), and Nakatomi Plaza is the location of the high-rise building where the first film is set.

This revelation follows Rambo leading the way into Call of Duty Warzone. Toys For Bob, the developer behind the recent Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, has also been roped into active Warzone development.
While I’ve got you here, I have to ask: Do you consider Die Hard to be a Christmas film? Leave us a comment down below.
