The ‘Secrets of The Pacific’ event has launched on Call of Duty: Warzone and it appears to show a smaller version of the Caldera map. Call of Duty: Vanguard Season One is on its way to Warzone and players are waiting in anticipation for the new Caldera map. Fans of the game are eager for a new map after 2 years of playing Verndansk. Caldera is the upcoming Pacific map and recent information has made players question the size of the map.
Several images of Caldera were released by Activision, including one which showed the entire map. However, the company has never released exact details on the size of Warzone’s new Pacific map in comparison to Verdansk. Call of Duty news site ModernWarzone, along with others, has speculated that Caldera will be about the same size as Verdansk. This assumption has been the case for a while now but a new image suggests the map has been altered from its original design. The image shows a map that is a good deal larger than what Activision has previewed players will get in December.
ModernWarzone shared their findings to Twitter, showing two comparison photos of the altered Caldera map. The photos were spotted in the new ‘Secrets of the Pacific’ event which is meant to pump up players for the upcoming Caldera map by providing them with challenges that provide “intel” on the new map.
Looks like the final version of Caldera is quite different from this one seen in the Secrets of the Pacific #Warzone event. 👀🤔

As seen in the photos, the previous map on the left is much larger than the map coming on December 8. The Caldera map in ‘Secrets of The Pacific’ seems to display the original design, even having waterways traveling between different areas of the map. It seems that Caldera was reduced in size to make it closer in scale to Verdansk.
It’s doubtful that Activision will explain this change in design, but that’s unlikely to reduce anticipation for Season 1 of Call of Duty: Vanguard or Warzone: Pacific which both begin for Vanguard owners on December 8. Followed by its release for all players on December 9.
