PlayerUnknown’s Battleground, more commonly known as “PUBG,”was a big hit in 2017, and already promises to continue its meteoric rise in 2018. Numbers don’t lie, and the numbers show that PUBG is an enormously popular game. The game was released on Xbox One in early December, and its player count reached one million in just two days! That number is impressive in its own right, and it only accounts for Microsoft’s gaming console! The latest reports show that when you combine the player bases of all the consoles and PC, there are approximately 30 million people playing PUBG!With this level of popularity come some inevitable technical difficulties; so don’t be surprised if their servers crash occasionally while trying to accommodate everyone at the same time.
You Can’t Farm PUBG Items if You Can’t Play!
Nobody is happy when they can’t connect to the multiplayer game they love to play. This is no less true with PUBG! Imagine: you’re excited to play a few matches after a hard day’s work, only to realize that you can’t connect to PUBG. Every second counts in getting those PUBG skins, man! A thinking person would search for a solution to this issue right away, but the wisest of all finds the cause of the problem first. You must be extremely smart because you’re here to determine the cause. Luckily for you, we also have some solutions!
As mentioned in the introduction, do not be surprised if you encounter some difficulties in connecting to PUBG. The game might say that your Xbox is not authorized, or you may see some crazy error number pop up. The root cause of these errors is not entirely clear. It seems reasonable to assume, though, that there are just too many people playing at the moment. Servers can only handle a certain number of players at a given time. Just try reconnecting a few times until you get in. While you try that, go to PUBG’s official Twitter, subreddit, and server status page to check if there is a known problem on their end. If there’s no announcement of outages on any of the above sources, the best solution is to be patient. Wait for approximately thirty minutes to an hour before trying to connect again. After that, if it’s still a no-go, hard reset your Xbox One and then try again.
A More Advanced Solution
Have you hard reset your console and confirmed that the PUBG servers are working and you still can’t connect? You might have changed your network settings accidentally. You will want to start by checking which Network Address Translation (NAT) you’re using. Here’s how:
- Scroll left from Home to open the guide.
- Select Settings.
- Select All Settings.
- Select Network.
If you followed the above steps, you should be in your ‘Network Settings’ screen. Once there, you should see a section called ‘Current Network Status’ in the middle column. There you will see what NAT Type you’re using. You may want to set it to ‘Open,’ since this is the most flexible among all NAT types. Hopefully, this adjustment solves your connection issue.
If all else fails, then you might want to just play another game, or do something else entirely. PlayerUnkown’s BattleGrounds is definitely not going anywhere. In fact, it looks like it will be around for a very long time. So, be patient! Sit this one out for the time being and when the connection issue is fixed, you will be ready and hungry to win
