Apparently, Norwegian pirate series, Captain Sabertooth, is kind of a big deal as the franchise is extremely popular with kids around the world. I’ve not heard of it until today, which makes me feel very old.
Should you be a fan of Captain Sabertooth, or have children that are, then it may please you to know that a game has been announced for the PC and Nintendo Switch, and it will launch this holiday season.
Captain Sabertooth and the Magic Diamond will see the player forced to do Sabertooth’s bidding as the villainous captain is convinced that you know the location of the magical diamond from the title. The choice is either to walk the plank or help him find it. Thankfully, the latter is in order; otherwise, this would be a very short game.
I’m sure you can guess the type of game this will be; however, why not take a look at the announcement trailer and see what you think:

It’s no One Piece, but Captain Sabertooth does actually look pretty fun, and it has a bright, colorful graphical style that feels perfect for the Switch. As long as it plays as nicely as it looks, we could be on to a winner here, especially for young fans of the franchise.
As well as some classic 2D platforming, Captain Sabertooth and the Magic Diamond will also feature several minigames, which include pirate barrel pinball, target practice, and a journey up the jungle river.
We’ll bring you more news when it comes in, with a solid release date, hopefully not too far away. Be sure to let us know your thoughts on this one, as well as the franchise as a whole, in the comments.
