Cyberpunk 2077 is fast approaching, with only eight long days left before it’s in our hands. With that being said, some players will inevitably get their hands on it before launch. Whether it be through postal errors or some other unforeseen method, people will be exploring Night City before launch. With that being said, CD Projekt Red has made it very clear today that streams and videos before December 9 at 12 PM CET are prohibited. Not only that, but all footage outside of their official channels will be taken down.

In a statement on the official Cyberpunk Twitter page (which you can see above), CDPR detailed this very point:
We’re getting closer and closer to launch and chances are some of you will get your hands on a copy of Cyberpunk 2077 before release day. However difficult this might be for us to achieve, our ambition is for gamers all across the world to have the same – spoiler free – experience at the time the game releases”
Given the nature of how big a launch like Cyberpunk 2077 is, this makes sense. They don’t want players to have their experience ruined, and they don’t want their game in the public early. CDPR definitely isn’t the first to do this either, but they’re one of the few to be so transparent about it. That is a good thing, even if it makes it much clearer that we can’t see too much of the game before December 10. It’ll be worth the wait in the end though since CDPR has clearly crafted something beautiful that will live on in the hearts of many.
I’m still very excited about what Cyberpunk 2077 will have to offer. So excited in fact, that this will be the first time in years that I buy a AAA game at full price. That’s just my thoughts though. Are you excited to see what CD Projekt Red has cooked up? Let me know in the comments below!
