‘Champions’ of Apex Legends Banned for Cheating

Apex Legends is a title by Respawn Entertainment. These are the same people to thank for their upcoming Medal of Honor VR title. This battle royale places everyone into squads of three. Only by working with two others can the goal of champion even be close to achieving. But, others are looking to achieve that same goal. Analyzing play style may be the best way to improve. But others may feel the need to do so artificially.

Respawn Entertainment Bans ‘Champions’

Dealing with cheaters is commonplace in battle royales. It’s precisely why some gamers tend to shy away from any multiplayer shooters. However, developers themselves often do their best to handle players who cheat the system. Home of the ‘Champions,’ Apex Legends is also no stranger to this type of problem. The game lets players play either casual or Ranked matches. Achieving a Gold rank in the latter mode is something one has to work hard to earn. Cheating is relatively common in casual matches. But it seems that some of the highest-Ranked players were just run-of-the-mill cheaters.

Known as Apex Predators, a few top Champions in Ranked mode have been caught cheating. @invulnerableFPS, as they were known on Twitter, was one of the players banned. Currently, the other player that was banned has not been named. A member of TSM shared their sentiments on Twitter:

LOL turns out @invulnerableFPS got banned AGAIN! Absolutely pathetic man, anyone who was defending these guys who have been caught before will be dead silent now I’m sure, now how about the accomplices?? Justice has been served!

According to some players, this player had cheated multiple times under different names. It is thanks to other Ranked players who had suspicions that they’d been cheating. If not for them, the player may have continued to escape unnoticed. While catching a high-ranked Champion cheating isn’t common, this is likely to cause Respawn to re-evaluate the anti-cheat mechanism in Apex Legends.
