It appears the state of the world today has taken its toll on Cheryl. The songstress recently highlighted her view on the world as a contributing factor to not wanting more kids. According to Cheryl, who has one son with ex-boyfriend Liam Payne, 29, she was no longer sure about her willingness to bring another child into the world, despite how excited she was about the idea three years back.
In an interview with DailyMail, the 39-year-old admitted her attitude to having kids changed after the pandemic due to a host of reasons, with age being a major factor. She explained:
“I was so hell-bent on having another before because Bear was at that perfect age. I think if you have that couple-year age gap, you can still do things with them together where they’re both engaged and both interested.”
Aside from the age of her now-5-year-old son, Bear, Cheryl believed she had become older in the wake of the pandemic, long after her romance with Liam Payne ended.
Cheryl May Embrace Other Means Of Having Second Baby
While birthing more kids may be out of the question for her, the former The X-Factor judge remains open to the idea of having another child through other means. One of the methods she may consider is adoption. In fact, her zeal to carter for the kids already struggling to survive in a messed up world during the pandemic left Cheryl questioning her motherhood ambitions; it ultimately spurred her decision to abandon her initial idea of welcoming a second baby via a sperm donor. She explained:
“I just love babies and children, and I’d do anything to help or have another one around, but it’s not as prevalent anymore. Also, in the process of the pandemic, I looked around at the world and thought this world is a bit crazy. Is it a sensible idea to bring a soul into all this madness?”
So far, the TV personality seems to have found a clear answer to that pressing question. Now fulfilled as a mom of one, Cheryl centers her love and attention around her son, Bear, who she co-parents with Liam Payne.
