The horrifying Choo-Choo Charles is out for blood, and it is up to the player protagonist to maintain their train via upgrades and repairs for survival. While fans do not need to face Charles head-on in combat, they will need to ensure their train’s defenses are properly managed to overcome multiple encounters with the demonic locomotive. While some hardcore players might be able to finish the game without using a single upgrade or repair, taking such a risk for sport is not a recommendation for those aiming for survival. If measures are not taken to restore the player train’s HP, the terrorizing monstrosity in this indie horror will see to it that the protagonist meets a swift end.Â
Repairing and Upgrading the Train in Choo-Choo Charles
To upgrade or repair the player train in Choo-Choo Charles, indie horror survivors will need a resource known as Scrap. Scrap is a metallic pile of junk that can be found in every location on the map. Players can find this material whenever they stop at a landmark; Scrap nodes will spawn on the ground, inside structures, and atop objects.

According to Gamepur, Scrap can also be obtained by completing sidequests for NPC that players encounter across the Choo-Choo Charles. Therefore, players should always be sure to hear out the various residents’ requests to receive a steady source of Scrap. Even if a side quest’s objective does not appeal to the players’ interest, the Scrap earned from the mission will undoubtedly be a substantial advantage in increasing one’s chances of survival. Once players have enough Scrap in Choo-Choo Charles, they can get to repairing and upgrading their train.
Upgrading and repairing are done via the blueprint table within the player train in Choo-Choo Charles. If players interact with the large blueprint lying on the desk, a menu will appear, displaying how much Scrap they possess, including a list of upgrades and their costs. Furthermore, the very top of the page reveals how much HP the train has left. As noted above, Scrap is also the currency-like resource needed to make repairs to the train and restore its health. Players are encouraged to check this blueprint table often as they continue their perilous journey in Choo-Choo Charles.
