Initially reported in an exclusive by Deadline, Marvel fan-favorites Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson are being reunited. The two are set to star in an Apple TV+ exclusive movie titled Ghosted, currently being developed by Skydance. Ghosted is described as a romantic action-adventure.
Dexter Fletcher is set to be the director. He has previously helmed Rocketman and Bohemian Rhapsody. The script is being written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, known for their stellar work on both of the Deadpool films and Zombieland. Wernick and Reese had developed the idea and sold it to Skydance as a pitch.
Reunited and It Feels So Good
Ghosted will be the latest film for Skydance, which just released the Chris Pratt film, The Tomorrow War on Amazon. Previously, they had released Without Remorse, also on Amazon, starring Michael B. Jordan. For Netflix, Skydance has tapped Victoria Mahoney to direct Old Guard 2. All of this is in addition to the theatrical releases of Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins, released on July 23, and Top Gun: Maverick, set to release on November 19.
Ghosted promises to be another hit for Apple which just released the delight of Sundance, CODA.  This will be the second project for both Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson with Apple. Evans had made his Apple TV+ debut with the series Defending Jacob and Johansson has signed on for the film Bride. This news is a clear indicator that Apple is making aggressive moves to shore up its slate of original titles with big names. Apple is also in production with Martin Scorsese for Killers of the Flower Moon and Will Smith for Emancipation. Finally, Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds will be releasing their holiday film, Spirited. Apple is even set to have three more films set to release before the end of the year: The Tragedy of Macbeth, Finch starring Tom Hanks, and Come From Away.
