Pratt has been a Christian since he was a teenager, but unfortunately, he has gotten backlash as an actor for his faith. Recently, though, the superhero actor defended himself and his religious beliefs in a recent interview.
Chris Pratt Stands Up For His Faith
As time has gone on Chris Pratt has grown in the movie industry becoming more familiar and known, which has only opened him up for more haters. After it was announced that he’d voice Mario in the Super Mario Bros. Movie, everyone attacked the actor even more. Haters claimed that his “Mario voice” would ruin the movie, now it has broken many records since its release. Pratt has responded throughout the years to many different hate comments toward his faith, mainly by quoting the Bible.
Recently the superhero actor defended himself at the screening of his latest movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. In New York, Chris Pratt was asked if he feels attacked by his beliefs as a Christian and he responded with verses from the Bible. Discussing how Jesus was also hated in the world because of his beliefs that are not of the world.
That’s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated him [Jesus] too,” he responded to Page Six. “If I was of this world, they would love me just like that but as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world.’ That’s John 15:18 through 20.”
