Remnant: From the Ashes developer Gunfire Games announced earlier today that the game hit 2.5 million copies sold. That’s a huge achievement alone, but that isn’t the only news coming from the team today. Their upcoming rerelease of Chronos: Before the Ashes, releases one week from today. This is the prequel to Remnant and was made years ago for VR headsets. Now it’s finally coming to other platforms, but you might want an idea of what to expect. That’s where today’s video comes into play. Chronos: Before the Ashes released a new explanation video today, showcasing exactly what Chronos is. You can find said video below.
Chronos: Before the Ashes is set years before Remnant, tasking an unnamed adventurer with exploring the Labyrinth and its mysteries. The dangers that await you are vast, but so are your options for dealing with them. Whether you’re more of an agile fighter or look towards brute strength to take down your foes, Chronos offers plenty of options for you. Nothing will beat your knowledge of the enemy though, which can be the difference between winning and losing a fight. This action RPG is a bit different compared to Remnant, but still offers that sweet, satisfying gameplay loop you’ve come to expect.
One particularly interesting part of Chronos: Before the Ashes is its death mechanic. In Chronos, death is not the end for the hero, but rather an integral part of the story. As you die, your hero grows older which comes with its own set of consequences. You may be worse when it comes to swordsmanship, but your knowledge of magic will be oh so valuable.
Chronos: Before the Ashes will be available beginning December 1 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia. If you’d like more information, you can check out the game’s official site.
