Civilization VI was already a massive game on release, but developer Firaxis has plans to make it even bigger. Many fans will claim that the previous entry in the series did not become great until a few of the large expansion ironed out some of the problems. Step one of that process is coming soon for the newest entry in the 4X series, entitled Civilization VI: Rise and Fall.
Rise and Fall will add several new leaders, civilizations, and features to Civilization VI. We already detailed the addition of the Dutch civilization and their leader, Wilhelmina. Today, new details have been released about an alternative leader for India. No longer will players be shackled to the nuclear weapon-obsessed Gandhi when they take the reigns of India; players will now be able to conquer the world of Civilization VI: Rise and Fall with Chandragupta. Check out his reveal trailer below:
Chandragupta looks to be a dramatic change of pace from the religion and peace-loving Gandhi. He seems to favor an aggressive playstyle, as his unique ability allows you to declare wars of territory expansion. This will grant your units extra mobility and strength during the first few turns of one of these wars, hopefully allowing you to quickly overwhelm and defeat your enemies. Using these territorial expansion wars with India’s already formidable elephant rider units will reward war-minded players who want to claim huge portions of the map very quickly.
New leaders aren’t the only tricks up Civilization VI: Rise and Fall‘s sleeve. Gameplay-altering features like global emergencies, golden and dark ages, governors who grant bonuses to your cities, and an upgraded alliance system all look to help improve an already phenomenal strategy game. Civilization VI: Rise and Fall releases on February 8, 2018, and we will have more details as they become available.
