A new version of the original Pokemon game has been added to Nintendo Switch Online for the Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED. Pokémon Puzzle League will be available for the Nintendo Switch Online starting July 15th. Last month, Pokémon Snap joined the Switch Online Expansion Pack service, and the classic Pokemon game is following on its heels as well.
Nintendo Switch Online Gets Pokémon Puzzle League
Nintendo’s unexpected news that Pokémon Puzzle League will be added to the service made subscribers happy. But since this is an N64 classic game, it will only be playable by Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack subscribers. If they have The Expansion Pack, Nintendo Switch Online’s subscribers may look forward to enjoying the Pokemon Puzzle League on July 15th.
Puzzle League, developed by Nintendo Software, made its debut in 2000 in North America. The N64 exclusive puzzle game reached a Metacritic score of 81 when the first year. Also, the original Pokemon game was released on the Wii Virtual Console in 2008. And finally, it will be available on Nintendo Switch Online. However, it’s worth noting that the free collection of N64 and Sega Genesis titles is only available to Expansion Pack members who have paid for the premium version of Switch Online.

“Welcome to Pokemon Puzzle League! Being selected to participate in the Official Puzzle League Tournament is one of the greatest honors a Pokemon Trainer can earn,” Nintendo’s official statement for the game said. “In this brand new type of Pokemon battle, you’ll have to use your strongest Pokemon to compete against the very best Trainers in League Village. Join Ash, Brock, Misty, and many more characters from the Pokémon animated series as they gather in Puzzle Village to compete for the title of Pokémon Puzzle Master.”
As you remember, N64 hadn’t any main Pokémon games, but there were a lot of excellent spin-offs for the console. Hopefully, Pokémon Stadium and its follow-up will also be available on the Switch Online service.
