With Cobra Kai season 4 now on Netflix, the show has lost its perfect scoring. While many critics are still singing the show’s praises, some audiences have managed to find faults with the popular show.
Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg created the series of Cobra Kai. The series takes place after the original Karate Kid trilogy. At first, the series started on YouTube Premium in 2018 before the platform sold it to Netflix. Since its release, it had garnered wide critical acclaim from viewers and critics alike, though the perfect reputation of its fourth season was tainted with a perfect score being knocked down. While the season is still seen as incredibly solid, some have taken issue with a few things.
Cobra Kai Season 4 and Beyond
The show follows Johnny Lawrence as he grows up. He is drawn back into the world of karate after helping a bullied high schooler named Miguel. When Johnny chooses to reopen the Cobra Kai dojo, he also draws the attention of his former rival, Daniel LaRusso. Eventually, the returning John Krease returns to the Cobra Kai dojo and expels Johnny from his own business. From there, the show sets the stage for a third dojo named Eagle Fang.
While Cobra Kai season 4 is fresh to Netlfix, fans have also expressed their excitement for the already announced season 5. Creator Jon Hurwitz went on to say on his Twitter page a while ago, “We are very deep into the Season 5 planning. Several scripts and outlines have been written. And we are definitely writing towards an endgame, which will hopefully be beyond Season 5.” Three months since this September interview, he announced that Season 5 had finished production.
As of now, all of the current seasons of Cobra Kai are available to stream on Netflix.
