Ahead of its September 9 premiere, Netflix released the trailer for Cobra Kai season 5 (seen below). The footage shows us the antagonist Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) growing his empire as he aims to make his No Mercy style the only form of martial arts in town. So, it is up to Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), and Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) to find a way to stop him.
The new season of Cobra Kai has a lot to tackle since the aftermath of the All Valley Tournament and Terry spreading his violent method of martial arts around the city. We will see Johnny scrape together enough cash to live by becoming an Uber driver. For Daniel, he has closed down the Miyaga-do dojo. It ends with a glimpse at how the No Mercy style works in prison with John Kreese (Martin Kove).
The stakes are higher this time around, but there are still personal relationships to add to the drama in Cobra Kai. Johnny will face what’s to come with his relationship with Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) and Robbie (Tanner Buchanan). Daniel’s wife Amanda (Courtney Henggeler) hopes this all ends soon.
