Turtle power! Did you not like the previous two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies that came out in the 2010s? Well, you are in luck because Deadcentral is reporting that Colin Jost, yes, that SNL guy, is teaming up with his brother, Casey Jost, to write a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie involving our favorite heroes in half-shells. And just like the most recent turtles movies, this one will also be produced by Michael Bay, hold on to your butts.
Back to the Ooze, Again…
Along with Michael Bay; Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, Scott Mednick, and Galen Walker will all be producing it, while Colin Jost and his brother Casey will be writing the script. There’s nothing concrete yet as far as plot or anything relevant, just some early confirmations of who will be writing and producing the next installment in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle universe. I think it’s safe to start calling it that since we are now in the third iteration as far as movies go. Let’s just hope that they do justice to Shredder in this new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
But Why?
Your guess is as good as mine to be completely frank with you. I mean, the obvious answer is money, money, and lest we forget, money. I only saw the 2014s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles one and it wasn’t horrendous, but it also wasn’t great either. It felt very forced, didn’t have the same fun that the animatronic one did back in 1990. What really confuses me is that Michael Bay had already helped produce the more recent ones, and now he’s going for another go? Seriously? There isn’t another Transformers movie you would rather make? I do think Colin Jost is funny at times but is this what you really need? A comedy writer to come in and make it funnier? I mean it’s worked for the likes of Todd Philips and Adam McKay, but those fine gentlemen are the exception to the rule, not the rule.
