One year after their engagement, former bachelor Colton Underwood and his new husband Jordan C Brown got married in a romantic ceremony in Napa Valley, marking a major relationship milestone. Colton, a former NFL player first grabbed the attention of Bachelor Nation when he joined the cast of The Bachelorette season 14 as one of the contenders for Becca Kufrin’s love. His unsuccessful bid in 2018 paved the way for him to become a participant in Bachelor in Paradise season 5. Again, he failed to find love and ultimately snagged the honor of becoming The Bachelor season 23 leading man.
At the end of the season, which aired in 2019, Colton forged a connection with Cassie Randolph. However, rather than a proposal, the duo decided to date, and see how things go. The flames quickly fizzled out, and the couple announced their split in May 2020.
The drama between them heightened further as the months went by. Cassie accused Colton of stalking and harassing her, leading her to file a restraining order. They wound up reaching an out-of-court agreement, and the order was dismissed. The biggest shocker ensued barely a year later when Colton came out as gay in April 2021. Before long, he announced he was in love, ultimately coming clean about his relationship with Jordan. Two years down the line, their love story has become an inspiration to other queer couples. Here is a glimpse into Colton Underwood and Jordan C Brown’s relationship through the years.
The Bachelor’s Colton Underwood Comes Out as Gay
On April 14, 2021, about one year after his romance with Cassie ended, Colton Underwood opened up about his sexuality on TV. Speaking to his interviewer on Good Morning America, the reality star divulged,
“I’ve ran from myself for a long time, I’ve hated myself for a long time. I’m gay. I came to terms with that earlier this year, and the next step in all of this was sort of letting people know.”
He made it clear that since coming to terms with his sexuality, he has become the happiest and healthiest he’s ever been. His admission took many by surprise, but eventually, the world came to terms with the initial shocker and continued rooting for his love quest outside Bachelor Nation.
Colton and Jordan Spotted Together During Hawaiian Vacay
Months after revealing his gay status, Colton Underwood was sighted on a romantic getaway in Maui, Hawaii with a man. The two appeared to be a couple, evident in their unreserved PDAs at the Four Seasons Resort, from holding hands while relaxing to locking lips. The media later identified the mystery man as Jordan C. Brown.
As dating speculations began swirling around the two, Colton all but confirmed their affair in his social media posts. The TV personality shared photos on Instagram showing him seated suggestively beside a man at dinner. Although he cropped out the man’s face, deciphering his identity was an easy guess. Another shot showed two hands lovingly holding cocktails during the Hawaiian getaway.
Colton Underwood Reveals His Relationship With Jordan
Despite the ongoing speculations about his dating life, Colton managed to keep his affair with Jordan under wraps. But he blew the horns again in November 2021, when he admitted he was in love during an interview with New York Times to discuss his docuseries, Coming Out Colton. Despite his coy attempt to avoid namedropping, his “antsy” reaction when Jordan came up left no doubt about the identity of his love interest.
Within days Colton finally decided to stop keeping the world guessing. In a series of interviews in December 2021, the star admitted to being in a relationship with Jordan. Asked why he hid their affair for months, the star admitted he wasn’t hiding the relationship, but chose to give them some time to themselves before things blew up.
He also made their romance Instagram official that same month, sharing a string of photos of them together on his Instagram stories to mark his partner’s birthday.

Colton And Jordan Get Married
Sure enough, Colton made good of his promise to wed Jordan soon. The pair tied the knot on May 13, in an intimate ceremony at the Cameros Resort and Spa, Napa Valley. Jordan took to Instagram to break the big news, sharing several photos from their beautiful nuptials. He captioned,
“The Brown-Underwoods. May 13th 2023.”
Colton Underwood and his husband walked down the aisle hand-in-hand in custom Tom Ford suits of different hues. Speaking to People ahead of the event, the couple explained the significance of their nuptials, and every thought put into planning their wedding, which they described as “our loving walk.”
According to Underwood, the coffee table book titled Loving, which he received as a gift after coming out, inspired the theme of the event. He admitted the book, which showed images of men in love throughout history gave him the idea of including those images in canvases around the venue.
They also included secret love letters from queer people in the 18th and 19th centuries who were too scared to openly explore their “forbidden” love. The nod at those historical couples was their way of paying tribute to those who paved the way for all same-sex couples to legally get married. After the centuries-long fight for freedom, Colton hoped to join the league of men who broke societal norms by making his wedding special. He explained,
“We wanted to break some of the traditional norms of what a ceremony and a wedding look like. And for the entire weekend, we recognize that a lot of people attending, both of our families and some of our friends, will be their first queer wedding. We really want to make it special.”
Colton Underwood and his husband succeeded in doing just that, with their unique inclusions at the wedding, and slight deviations from the vow exchange norms, ultimately stamping their names among legends.
