Coco’s back in Funko form! Recently, TBS and Conan O’Brien’s Team Coco media company teased a new line of limited-edition Conan Funko Pop! Vinyl Figures. But that’s not all. Both TBS and Team Coco will be giving fans a chance to get their hands on this year’s Conan Funkos through a sweepstakes event that will take place on December 7-18. Fans will be able to catch the event on the air on TBS and social media.
Conan Funko Sweepstakes & Line-up Reveal
Each night on the CONAN show on TBS, a special code will be revealed for fans who want a chance to win a Coco figure. Additionally, the Team Coco Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter will provide more opportunities for Conan fanatics to win by randomly alerting followers to a “special spin-to-win digital activation.”
A line of limited-edition Conan Funko Pop! Figures have been unveiled every year since 2015. This year’s line-up will be revealed exclusively on CONAN on Monday, December 7 at 11:00 pm ET/PT. In the past, such figures have been highly sought after. Some of them end up costing Conan fans a pretty penny once they’re out in the secondary market.
Conan’s Move to HBO Max
In addition to the Conan Funko announcement, earlier this month, it was revealed that O’Brien is ending his late-night talk show on TBS to move to HBO Max in 2021. Iterations of O’Brien’s late-night talk show has been on the air for 27 years. By the time the curtains close next year, it will be 28, a few years shy of his idols Johnny Carson and David Letterman. It was also revealed that O’Brien’s HBO Max series will be a weekly variety show. Perhaps this suggests that he will be moving away from the traditional interview format. This would make sense as a large part of O’Brien’s recent success is due to his remotes, skits, and travel videos on YouTube.
So, although his long legendary late-night run is coming to an end, Coco lives on. As for what this means for future Conan Funko line ups, we will just have to wait and see. I just hope that Jordan Schlansky is still with the show.
