As the mayoral election in Ansonia, Connecticut, draws closer, it’s only natural to see the faces of the candidates plastered just about everywhere. One local from Ansonia, however, got fed up with one of the candidates after finding a campaign flyer glued on the front door of his home. Hence, the local promptly complained to the budding politician, and to his surprise, the mayoral candidate himself came and cleaned up his own campaign flyer.
Reddit user NBNFOL2024 posted this wholesome story. Around July 5, the Reddit user’s already bad day was made worse after he found a glued campaign flyer on his front door for Ansonia mayoral candidate Frank Tyszka. Worse still, the recent rain had ensured that the flyer, or at least its adhesive, grew stubbornly stuck on the door. So, the Reddit user complained to Frank using the flyer’s contact details, eventually reaching Frank himself.
Thankfully, Frank was apologetic about the flyer and promised to send someone to clean it up. To the Reddit user’s delight, however, Frank was the one who came knocking at his door to clean up his own glued campaign flyer.
The twist, however, is that Frank seemed to be unaware that his staff were gluing his flyers on people’s front doors and likely didn’t give such instructions. The two of them then concluded that it was another candidate who could’ve been trying to smear Frank Tyszka.
Sadly, the Reddit user’s door was still somewhat ruined since the ink on the flyer bonded to the wood and the paint. However, Frank showing up to clean what was presumed to be his opponents’ smear attempt instantly improved the Reddit user’s day, and he appears to have now reversed his decision not to vote for Frank.
A Breath of Fresh Air for Ansonians?
Reddit user NBNFOL2024 himself has admitted that Frank’s gesture was something that the city needed, especially after a continuous string of scandals from their current mayor, David Cassetti. Democrats within Connecticut have thus called for Mayor Cassetti to resign, especially after his tirade of profanity against Ansonia’s citizens.
Meanwhile, it appears people of Connecticut have a newfound respect for mayoral candidate Frank Tyszka for being a stand-up guy and the complete opposite of their current mayor. Reddit user NBNFOL2024, however, is worried that the current mayor, who also might be running for re-election, could resort to shadier tactics just to smear his opponents.

“If someone did glue it, it wouldn’t be the worst thing that’s happened to an opponent of the current mayor. Other people who have tried to run against him reported some shady dealings (shocker) and threats made to their possessions in campaigns past. At this point, Frank’s got my vote purely because we need the entire Cassetti administration out,” explains Durhamham
