Costumes, sets, and props from Star Trek and many other shows are set to be auctioned off. According to Deadline, more than 1000 television artifacts will be on the auction block from June 2-4. The collection of items termed the “Landmark Comisar Collection,” was amassed by James Comisar for more than three decades to keep them in a museum. Heritage Auctions will handle the auctioning of this collection, which contains items from the birth of television to its Golden Era to the age of Peak TV. These include costumes, props, and sets from Star Trek, The Sopranos, and many other famous shows.

Other items up for auction include the set from The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Heritage will also auction off the desk and New York City skyline from David Letterman’s Late Night. Buyers will also have an opportunity to gain Archie and Edith Bunker’s Queens living room from All in the Family, including the couple’s famous chairs. And fans of Cheers may seek out the bar the characters gathered around.
Artifacts from other shows will also be up for auction. These include props, sets, and costumes from Star Trek, Howdy Doody, Gunsmoke, I Love Lucy, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, The Office, E.R., Mad Men, and Breaking Bad.
Comisar started gathering this collection in 1989. It began with two hand-painted title cards from The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Comisar’s collection grew to more than 10,000 items. Comisar tried for years to open a museum for the items to no avail. Comisar said:
“After 30 years of saving and sacrificing to acquire and protect this collection, then meeting with studio heads, network presidents, theme parks and different cities across the country, I have come to accept that I won’t be able to establish the museum for TV fans I always dreamed of. I am extremely proud to have done my part in assembling and safeguarding this collection. Now, it’s up to others to take over this cultural mission.”
