Counter-Strike 2 unexpectedly leaks online through Torrent before the summer release date.
The leak emerged after official communication that the game has been in limited testing for a number of days.
Twitter user Artie Yamamoto posted information about the torrent on Twitter. The size of the leak is 18.92 gigabytes, containing 2664 files. The reliability of the leak was affirmed by a digital signature present in the files by Valve Corp and the user playing the game.
Counter-Strike 2 is part of Valve’s overhaul of the game’s series, bringing major upgrades and map changes to the game.
Trust Issues
Developer Valve reported that only a few players would participate in a play-test Counter-Strike 2 before its official release.
Gamers were chosen by Valve depending on their recent play time on the official servers, account standing, and trust factor. However, the trust might have been broken as the leak points to one of the players involved in the limited test run. The limited test only evaluates the game’s features to address key issues before the summer release.
As Counter-Strike 2 unexpectedly leaks online, the version available online is an early version rather than the final version of Counter-Strike 2. The online version only comprises the single-player mode without the presence of a multiplayer game option. Valve has not issued an official communication relating to the leak. However, considering the game was unveiled only two days ago, it is difficult.
Valve will need to re-evaluate how it selects players to take part in the limited-test models in the future. Such efforts will help to prevent cases of the games being leaked online before a major release.
Counter-Strike 2 will be officially out in the upcoming summer of 2023. After ten years of consistent success, the game is a huge change and upgrade to the original series. Fans of Counter-Strike 2 are excited about the major improvements in the tactical shooter aspect of the game.
