Crackdown 2 has been added to the Xbox One backwards compatibility list. Larry Hryb, Director of Programming for Xbox Live, announced the game is also free on the Live store. This latest news now means all three Crackdown games are available free to anyone with an Xbox Game Pass.
The original Crackdown was released for free on the store just before the third installment. Once the third game in the series was offered via Game Pass, it was only a matter of time before the middle game joined the party.
The Crackdown series is a sandbox-style action-adventure game created by David Jones and published by Microsoft Studios. The storyline takes place in a dystopian city controlled by a secret organization called the Agency. Gamers who haven’t given the series a shot should head over to the Xbox Store now to dive in. There’s no reason not to try the franchise now that all three games are free.
Backward compatibility was introduced for the Xbox One in November 2015. With more games added to the list on a regular basis, Xbox loyalists have the chance to revisit some of their old favorites.
Don’t worry if you don’t see a beloved classic listed above. Microsft has assured gamers that they are constantly adding new games to the list. In the meantime, dust off your old collection, and take some time with an old friend.
