It’s been a bit of a resurgence for Crash Bandicoot in recent times. Not only has he had a fantastic remake of the first 3 games, as well as Crash Team Racing, the little guy has also just brought out a fairly well-received part 4. To make it even sweeter, they have announced a Crash Bandicoot Nendoroid figure. It’s like the 90s never went away, and I couldn’t be happier.
There is one thing that Crash doesn’t have, though, and that’s a Nendoroid figure, at least for now as the folks over at Good Smile Company have announced that Nendoroid Crash Bandicoot is on the way in June 2021.
Based on Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, the figure looks just as great as we’ve come to expect from the Nendoroid range and will set prospective buyers back a cool ¥7,273 before tax in Japan, or $76.99 from the US store, with an expected shipping date of July for the States. It’s probably best to visit Japan.
The store listing states that Crash has articulated eyebrows, as well as interchangeable eye and tongue parts, and quite frankly, that’s all I need to know. The figure also comes with Crash’s trusty companion Aku Aku, so I’m assuming if he gets knocked off the shelf, he won’t get hurt.
He also comes with various articulated body parts so you can pose your Crash Bandicoot Nendoroid however you wish.
Pre-orders for the Nendoroid are open now and last until December 23rd, but fear not, as should you miss out, there will be plenty of great quality second-hand Crash’s in the various stores of Tokyo when you visit next year.
Let us know your thoughts on this in the comments. Do you plan on buying one, or are you happy to get your Crash fix from one of his games, or like me, do you have too many of these already?
