While racism should not be tolerated in any shape or form, it’s sadly on the rise in the US. In fact, according to 2024 statistics, eight out of 10 African-Americans say that they’ve experienced racial discrimination against them because of their race or ethnicity. Unfortunately, this means that instances of overt, public racism are becoming more frequent as well. Specifically, an unidentified man in California was caught on camera racially harassing, threatening, and physically assaulting a woman in her place of business, reportedly in Lake Forest, near the Salvation Army on Rockfield.
The footage is recorded by a witness at the scene, and is partly narrated by an influencer. In the opening, we see a heated moment showing the drunk unidentified White man leaning against the entrance of the workplace, and angrily yelling, “In America, we don’t like you, okay? We don’t like you!” While he shouts these words, he points his finger at the woman and then slams his hand on the window.
The clip then cuts to another brief moment later in the altercation, where the Hispanic woman is attempting to get the man to leave her place of business, by pushing him out of the door, and shouting, “Get the f**k out!“. However, while she does so, the White man throws a couple of jabs in her direction.
Later in the clip, we see some of the buildup before the assault, with the angry White man exchanging words with the Hispanic woman who is just trying to run her business. “You think you’re safe,” threatens the unidentified man, “But you’re not gonna be safe for soon.” In shock, the woman responds, “Are you threatening me, sir? Are you f***ing threatening me on my job? That’s not okay.” Under his breath, the White man utters, “You piece of sh*t.” It’s clear that the man appears inebriated while he sways to and fro.
After further back and forth, tensions continue to intensify, culminating in the man spewing hateful words like, “You’re a fat bastard and your f**king c*nt is heavy. Nobody loves you and you f**king stink.”
The influencer who obtained the footage helps to give a little bit of context and explains:
Lake Forest, California. This man who seems to be drunk, came into this woman’s business, started yelling, and threatening her and her customers, and then physically assaulted her.

She called the police, and for hours, they did not show up. In fact, her boyfriend, who’s two cities away, showed up before the police did, and he’s the one who got him to leave. Got this crazy man to leave. Then the police came much later when the danger was already gone.
And if this is a wake up call for you, I’m so sorry for everyone else. This is what it’s like. If you’re pro police, if you’ve always supported police, or even if you believe that police are obligated to help you, no matter what, when you call them, try needing them. With the clip circulating online at the moment, social media users were left aghast by the hateful racist tirade from the drunken man. One Redditor chimed in with, “Pretty telling that she’s working and he’s a drunken ranting old man.” while another added, “Dude is so wasted he can’t stay upright without leaning on the door.” Over on Instagram, a commenter weighed in, writing, “But if it was the other way around, cops would’ve been there in 2.2 seconds“.
Meanwhile, on Threads, one user criticized the other patrons in the business, penning, “The way people just sat there and let him threaten a woman is appalling. Basically tacit approval. Gross“. However, a response to this comment sums up my thoughts, “Seriously….. are you not watching what’s going on?? If they did stand up to help guess who would’ve been arrested?“
