Critical Role has launched a new chapter in its story. With the huge success of the various charities, the D&D livestream has run throughout the years, they are now taking that momentum to the next level. They have established the Critical Role Foundation. And with it, they hope to help many people.
The mission statement of the foundation is to “To leave this world better than we found it.” This statement is a reference to a line made by a character named Mollymauk (played by Taliesin Jaffe) who was killed early on in campaign two. The organization plans to partner with various nonprofits to push their mission forward and help those in need.
Since we began sharing stories online in 2015, one of our guiding principles has been to use our platform to create good — both in our local communities and for the world at large. Critical Role Foundation is our way of continuing this mission in a meaningful way.”
Their first project is with the Native Youth and Culture Fund through First Nations. First Nations is a highly-rated nonprofit that is focused on enhancing American Indian economies and communities through a variety of programs, one of which is the Native Youth and Culture Fund. Currently, the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the program hard, making it difficult for them to help those in need.
The Critical Role Foundation has set its first fundraising goal at $50,000. Those that are interested can donate through the website, or visit the brand new foundation website.
Critical Role Foundation selects and partners with outstanding non-profit organizations that carry the same values as we do and we work closely alongside each of our partners to ensure that every dollar raised is going toward programs and projects that are changing the world for the better. Critical Role Foundation is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your donation is 100% tax deductible in the United States.”
