The newest Dungeons and Dragons campaign book to hit shelves is Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount, and one adventure is completely free on Roll20. The cast and crew of Critical Role released the guidebook showcasing the game’s second campaign on March 17, 2020.
Critical Role and Wizards of the Coast teamed up to publish one short adventure module on the roleplaying game website Roll20. In a time where many people are spending time at home, it’s an excellent opportunity to explore the fantasy world of Exandria and step away from the real world.
Roll20’s mission has always been to unite gamers across any distance, and we’re working hard at continuing that pursuit as we see the world’s need to move their gaming gatherings online,” said Nolan T. Jones, Managing Partner of Roll20. “Critical Role has united and created millions of Dungeons & Dragons fans around the world, and we’re excited to offer their new playable adventures so gamers can continue expanding their hobby.”
The module in question is titled Frozen Sick and has players journey across the northernmost portion of Wildemount. It also involves an unknown illness spread from person to person, and it’s unclear if that was intentional or on purpose.
Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount features a brand new character class options, items, spells, and creatures.
Roll20 is a completely free service that allows dungeon masters to create and host virtual tabletop games.
Roll20 is an expert in dosing out social-distance solutions for game night, with a virtual tabletop that connects over five million players and DMs. Through this partnership, players can create their own online campaigns rooted in the breakout world of RPG hit, Critical Role.
Critical Role recently celebrated its five year streaming anniversary. They stream Dungeons and Dragons every Thursday on Twitch and create a plethora of other shows and content.
