Nippon Ichi Software probably does not need an introduction if you are a fan of Japanese games, but if you are not, then they are the team behind the tactical role-playing series Disgaea series. Nippon Ichi Software recently released this video, the opening movie for the game Bokuhime Project; a game that seemed to die in 2017.
You can view the opening scene here, and it is very Japanese, which is to be expected from Nippon Ichi Software.
The adventure game follows the tale of a boy called Minato whose sister wound up in a coma following a mysterious incident at a high-end school, “Private Yuriai Academy,” which has a ratio of one boy to every 99 girls. Because, of course, it does.
The school houses four “super beauties” or “princesses,” who know what happened. With the help of your cousin, you become more feminine to bond with them and earn their trust.
Key features of Bokuhime Project include:
“A cute showdown,” where Minato will compete for cuteness against the four super beauties.
Learning the ways of the feminine: By taking part in tea parties, cosplay, swimming, and “skinship”…Which, as far as I am aware, means nonsexual touching.
Cross-dressing skill tree: The game separates the aspects of cross-dressing into three categories:
Visual – Your appearance becomes more feminine.
Culture – Deepens your knowledge as a girl
Spirit – Strengthens Minato’s resistance to shame
In Japan, the game launches on April 23, 2020, but there is no word on a PAL or American release as of yet.
It seems very Japanese, but as someone who crossdresses, I always welcome anything that helps it become normality; although I am not sure that undercover schoolboy starts cross-dress investigation into sisters’ coma is exactly normality… But it is good to see Japan making something other than Pachinko machines!
Other recent weeb news includes Japan getting a Disney exclusive Nintendo Switch.
